Valiant freedom fighter Wing Commander (retd) AKM Kamal Uddin died of coronavirus infection while undergoing treatment in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on Thursday. He was 71.
As an officer of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), Kamal also attended UN peacekeeping mission in Rwanda. Kamal was also a national swimmer in the country.He was laid to eternal rest at Air Force graveyard at Tejgaon in the capital after Jummah prayers,
Before his burial, he was given honour of military heroism. Senior officers of BAF attended his namaz-e-janaza, said a press release.
The freedom fighter was born in Badarpur village at Matlab upazila of Chandpur district.
