Sri Lanka Cricket decided to carry on with the ongoing two-match Test series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka despite one of their groundsmen of Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy testing corona positive.

SLC media manager confirmed the development to The Daily Sun adding that nine individuals were sent to isolation as they were in close contact with the groundsman.

“A temporary worker, who reported to work was found positive, during regular testings, we do before they enter the venue. Once found positive, he along with nine of his first contacts was sent to follow regular health protocols,” Prasanna Rodrigo, media manager of SLC informed on Friday.

Corona is following SLC quite badly in the recent past as two coaches of the High-Performance Unit that is situated in Colombo had tested corona positive that forced SLC to close down the activities of the High-Performance Unit.
