Using movement pass to deliver heroin in city!

One Soumik Ahmed Siddique took a movement pass from police in the name of supplying face masks and hand sanitizers during the ongoing countrywide lockdown.   

But Siddique, 42, was supplying illegal drugs, including heroin, to various points in the capital after collecting them from the border areas.

The Rapid Action Battalion-2 (RAB) received information about the illegal act on Thursday.

The force were tipped off that Siddique was coming to Mohammadpur by a private car to supply heroin.

They immediately set a check post in front of Town Hall Market of Mohammadpur and caught him with 320 grams of heroin around 3:30am, said Abdullah Al Mamun, operations officer of the RAB-2.

The private car was also seized, said the police officer. He brought the drug from border area to supply them to a drug trader in the area, he said. 

During primary interrogation, the arrestee said as masks and hand sanitisers have huge demand at present, he took a movement pass from police against the supply of the things, according to the officer. 

After taking the movement pass, he was supplying drugs in the city after collecting them from the border areas.

The process of taking next legal action against him is underway, said Mamun.
