Ex-headmaster Maleka Begum passes away

Former Headmaster of Government Zila School Khulna, Maleka Begum died from COVID-19 on Tuesday.

She was 66, hospital and family sources said .

She left behind two sons, two daughters, huge students , host of relatives and admires to mourn her death, reports BSS.

Dr A T M Monjur Morshed, Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) told BSS that Maleka Begum was admitted to KMCH with fever and respiratory distress on Saturday.

She was shifted to ICU on Monday as her condition worsened.

Her namaz-e-janaza was held at Zila School Ground premises after Asr prayer.

She will be buried in her ancestral home at Shibchar village of Madaripur.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency sheikh Salahuddin Zewel and Zila Parishad chairman Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid in separate condolence messages expressed deep shock at the death of Maleka Begum .

They conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for her eternal peace of the departed soul.
