A Dhaka court on Monday sent acting chief of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) Rezaul Haque alias Reza alias Tanvir Mahmud jail in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Asheq Imam passed the order after police produced the accused before the court on completion of seven-day remand.

Earlier, on April 11, another Dhaka court placed him on a seven-day remand for interrogation in the case filed with Bhatara Police Station in the capital.

In a drive, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) arrested Rezaul from the capital’s Badda area on April 10.

CTTC officials said Rezaul was arrested in 2005 for his involvement with the countrywide series of bomb attack and he was behind the bar until he managed to secure bail in 2017.
