International flights to and from Bangladesh will remain suspended for another week from 22 April as the government is going to extend the strict lockdown.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) issued a circular in this regard on Monday, saying the decision was taken as per the government guidance and instruction.However, special flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Singapore will continue carrying the expatriate workers.
They have remained stuck and failed to join workplaces abroad as Bangladesh suspended international flights due to the strict lockdown since April 14.
Considering the situation, the government later decided to operate around 100 special flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Singapore. The special flights carrying expatriate workers began on April 17.
The CAAB, on April 11, announced suspension of all international passenger flights to and from Bangladesh for a week from April 14 in line with the government’s guidance and instruction.
