45 people fined for violating lockdown rules in Khulna

KHULNA: Different mobile courts on Sunday fined 45 people and a number of shops and organisations Taka 14,700 for violating government directives and health safety guidelines in the ongoing lockdown in the city and nine upazilas.

According to Khulna district administration’s media cell, separate mobile courts led by Khulna Deputy Commissioner and district magistrate Md Helal Hossain conducted drives in different city and upazilas on Sunday and fined 45 people and organisations for not wearing masks and opening shops and some orgnizations in the lockdown flouting health guidelines.

“District administration is continuing drives and regular campaign for preventing coronavirus with a slogan ‘no masks, no service, and strict adherence to health safety guidelines and other rules, set by the government,” Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner Debashish Basak said.

Meanwhile, Khulna city saw almost complete lockdown on the fourth day on Sunday as the local administration took strict measures to impose the restrictions to contain the spread of infections of the second wave of coronavirus.
