1 killed, 10 injured in Gaibandha clash over land dispute

GAIBANDHA: A woman  was killed and 10 people were injured as two groups of villagers clashed over the ownership of a piece of land in Saddarpara area of Saghata upazila in the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hazra Begum, wife of Shukur Ali.

Saghata Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Belal Hossain said Abdul Latif Miah of Sardara Para village had an argument with his neighbor Shukur Ali.

At one stage, supporters of the two attacked each other with sticks, leaving a number of people injured, he added.

Seriously injured Hazra Begum died on the way to a hospital.

The injured are being treated at Bogra Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital and local health complex.

Shukur Ali filed a murder case against several people, including a woman.
