Ctg sees record daily deaths

CHATTOGRAM: Nine more patients died of Covid-19 in the district on Saturday.

Of them, six were from the city and three from different upazilas in the district.

 The number is the highest in the district after recording the first death on April 11 last year, sources said.

 Besides, 228 more patients tested corona positive on that day.

 Of the infected patients, 204 were from the city and 24 from different upazilas.

 Sources in the Chattogram district Civil Surgeon office said that a total of 1,867 samples were tested at the six laboratories and 228 of them were found as positive on Saturday.

 With these, a total of 423 people died and 44,319 were infected with the highly contagious virus in Chattogram so far.  Of them, 35,531 were from the city and 8,788 from upazilas.

Mentionable, a total of 34,763 patients also recovered from the disease in Chattogram district till the day.
