Police recovered bodies of two women from New Market and Sabujbagh areas in the capital on Saturday.
One of the diseased was Laily, 17, a domestic help while the identity of another, 35, could not be known. Police said they were killed.In New Market, police recovered the body of Laily from a teachers quarters inside Pilkhana.
Police arrested her employer Farzana Islam, a teacher of accounting at Bir Sreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College.
The arrestee was produced before a Dhaka court on Sunday and the court placed her on a four-day police remand.
Abul Hasan, assistant commissioner (New Market Zone) of Ramna Crime Division of police, told the Daily Sun that being informed by the authorities concerned, a team of police reached the spot and recovered the body.
“The body bore several injury marks. We informed the Crime Scene of the CID of the matter. They visited the spot and collected evidences,” he said.
Later, the body was sent to the morgue of the DMCH for autopsy report which will clear about the reason of the death, he added.SM Kaium, officer-in-charge (OC) of New Market Police Station, told the Daily Sun that it was a murder.
A murder case was filed with the police station, he said.
Atikul Biswas Mukul, sub-inspector of New Market Police Station, said that victim's mother Shyamola Begum filed the case.
Shyamola said, “I could talk to my daughter nearly two weeks ago, but it was only for one or two minutes. My daughter told me that her employer was sitting beside her when she was talking to me.
She alleged the teacher tortured her daughter to death.
Laily, daughter of Siraz Mia and Shyamola of Chandraganj upazila in Laxmipur, joined her job at the residence of Farzana six months ago.
In Sabujbagh, police recovered the body of an unknown woman, 35, from a house no. 92/1, at Shahibagh Bank Colony in Dakkhingaon on Saturday afternoon.
Aminul Bashar, inspector (investigation) of Sabujbagh Police Station, told the Daily Sun on Sunday that the woman was killed after rape.
The face of the woman was covered with a piece of polythene while the whole body was wrapped up with a katha (blanket), but there was no dress in her body.
The parts of jaw and throat of the deceased were found cut, he said.
He said that the body was recovered from in front of a flat on the second floor. The younger son of house owner lives in the flat with her wife.
At about 12:00pm, the younger son with his wife went out. They returned to their residence at about 3:00pm and found the body in front of the flat, and informed police of the matter, he said.
The crime scene of the CID rushed to the spot and collected evidences, he said.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he added. Aminul Bashar said that they could not identify the deceased and killers.
He said that the woman was killed by somebody inside the flat.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
