BTCL launches calling service app ‘Alaap’

Bangladesh Telecommuni- cation Company Limited (BTCL) launched its calling service application ‘Alaap’ recently.

After installing the application, customers will own a new talk number along with their current mobile number.

It also allows users who have internet connection to talk and chat through Alap application for free, said a press release. 

Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the app and also unveiled the logo of Alap virtually in the capital.

BTCL Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder was also present as the special guest. 

Calling to any mobile or landline phone will cost 30 paisa per minute with the pulse facility per second (with 15 percent VAT added).

Till April 7, some 0.4 million users signed up on this application.

Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Division Md Afzal Hossain presided over the function. BTCL Managing Director Dr. Md. Rafiqul Matin also spoke.
