Varendra North Zone in men’s cricket final

Varendra North Zone qualified for the final in the men’s cricket event of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games as they beat Chattola East Zone by 36 runs in their last league match in Barishal on Wednesday.

Sent into bat first, North Zone made 235 runs in 49.1 overs with Nayeem Ahmed scoring the highest 85 runs. In reply, East Zone were bowled out for 199 runs in 47.1 overs despite Rihad Khan’s making 81 runs.

North Zone’s Zakaria Islam bagged three wickets for the winning side.
