Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday directed party leaders and activists to prepare a list of instigators of communal violence.
He made the statement at a virtual press conference at his official residence on parliament premises in the capital.Talking about the continuous mayhem by communal force Hefazat, Quader said there is a limit to people’s patience and tolerance and the exceeding of limit will bring a dire consequence.
“Do not cross the limit. The nation will no longer tolerate the disregard for the spirit of the War of Liberation and dishonour of Bangabandhu. Awami League activists will answer to those who have attacked Bangabandhu’s pictures and sculptures,” he said.
The minister also said that Awami League has been showing patience as it is in power.
“Awami League leaders and activists know how to give a befitting reply if it comes under attack,” he said.
The AL spokesperson said people of Bangladesh are religious, but they do not approve of any fanaticism.
“Do not play with fire. If you do, you will burn your hands.”
