E-commerce services allowed to operate untill 12 am

The government has issued a guideline on operations of ecommerce companies including extended timeline for services up to 12 am at night during the lockdown period.

Regarding the development, Ministry of Commerce issued a directive on Tuesday mentioning that the product laden vehicle of e-commerce companies can move from morning 6 am to night 12 am.

“The restaurant aligned with e-commerce services can operate outlet upto 10 pm, however, delivery man can’t enter into the kitchen of the eateries. Besides, the companies have to submit the list of restaurants to the office of deputy commissioners in respective districts,” read the directive signed by Hafizur Rahman Khan, director general at WTO Cell.

For hassle-free operations of the companies, E-commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-Cab) is authorised to issue sticker to the deliveryman and vehicle of e-commerce companies during the restriction on public movement, according to the letter.
