Jahangirabad earn first win in men’s cricket

Jahangirabad Central Zone clinched their first win in the men’s cricket event of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games as they beat Varendra North Zone by three wickets in their second game in Barishal on Monday.

Jishan Alam (71), Amir Hossain (60) and Monir Hossain (52 not out) set up the victory for Central Zone as their fifties guided them to reach 238-7 in 45.1 overs after their bowlers bowled out North Zone for 235 runs in 50 overs. Zakaria Islam scored the highest 64 runs while Nayeem Ahmed made 54 runs for North Zone after they opted to bat first.
