An old video of police car vandalism went viral on Facebook on Monday.

The video clip headlined ‘Police car vandalised in lockdown’ was posted by a Facebook page named Radiogulistan.com. The old video shows some unidentified persons vandalising a pickup van of Dakshin Khan Police Station under Uttara division.

Police launched an investigation into who is causing panic by spreading an old video of an incident which occurred last year. The cybercrime team will take legal action to thwart this attempt at falsifying an old story with a new headline.

Incidentally, on May 13, 2020, police seized some easybikes and took them to the police station to stop the movement of illegal easy bikes in Dakshin Khan Kotbari area.

Later, a local woman named Rashi Akhter got into an argument with police over the seizure of an easy bike and verbally abused cops.  At one stage, her accomplices carried out an attack on police and vandalised their car, leaving several cops injured.

Following the incident, police filed a case against 35 people, including Rashi Akhter, at Dakshin Khan Police Station (Case No. 05 dated 13 May, 2020). Legal action was taken against the accused after the case was filed.
