The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against Hanif Paribahan owner Mohammad Hanif Miah for not submitting his wealth statement to the commission.

The ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 accusing Hanif Miah, who is one of the death-row convicts in August 21 grenade attack case, ACC sources said.

Earlier, the ACC in last year summoned Hanif Miah after it found evidence of illegal wealth worth Tk 1.75 crore against Hanif Miah during inquiry of the anti-graft body.

The commission had also summoned Hanif Miah’s wife Eva Hanif, and his younger brother Kafil Uddin for interrogation.

But only Kafil Uddin appeared at the ACC headquarters in the capital’s Segunbagicha on August 24, last year for facing the interrogation.
