39.86pc pass MBBS entry test

The results of MBBS admission test in public and private medical colleges for academic session 2020-21 were published on Sunday with 39.86 percent pass rate this year.

The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) published the results at a press conference at its conference room in the city’s Mohakhali area.

Addressing the press conference, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary Md. Ali Noor said that 48,975 students came out successfully.

A total of 122,874 students registered for the medical admission test, but 116,792 appeared for the exam amid a surge of coronavirus infection. A total of 6,082 students were absent from the test.

A total of 4,350 out of 48,975 successful candidates have been selected for the admission. Of them, 2009 are male and 2341 are female.

The student who scored the highest marks is a female named Missouri Munmun. She got 87.25 out of 100 in the admission test.

A total of 3,937 students were selected from the current academic session while 413 students were selected from the previous academic session.

There are 4,350 seats in the 37 government medical colleges, and 6,347 seats in the 70 private medical colleges all over the country.
