Administering the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine will start from April 8 while the programme to give the first jab of the vaccine will also continue simultaneously.  

“We will start giving the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine from April 8 and our programme of administering the first dose of the vaccine will continue simultaneously,” Prof Dr Meerjadey Sebrina Flora, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), told the Daily Sun.

She also hoped that they will get adequate vaccine in time to carry out the vaccination programme.

“We have already sent letter to the Prime Minister’s Office to get the vaccine we are supposed to receive it to carry out the vaccination programme against Covid-19,” said Meerjadey Sebrina Flora.

A total of 47,01,828 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine doses are now in stock of the government as 54,98,172 doses out of total 1,0200000 have been administered until Sunday.
