RANGPUR: The total number of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 5,64,361 with inoculation of more 5,408 people on Sunday in Rangpur division.
Health officials said the daily number of vaccine recipient citizens continues declining in recent days due to inadequacy of Covid-19 vaccines amid quickly rising infection rates across the division.“The 5,408 citizens, who were inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccines on Sunday in the division, include 2,952 male and 2,456 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS.
The total 5,64,361 citizens vaccinated so far with Covid-19 vaccines include 3,39,046 male and 2,25,315 female of all eight districts in the division.
Almost all of the vaccine recipients are feeling alright without remarkable side effects except 73 people who experienced temporary adverse events for a few minutes since launching of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 in the division.
“The district-wise break-up of 5,64,361 vaccine recipients stands at 1,61,734 in Rangpur, 42,071 in Panchagarh, 71,810 in Nilphamari, 35,920 in Lalmonirhat, 44,201 in Kurigram, 46,639 in Thakurgaon, 1,02,713 in Dinajpur and 59,273 in Gaibandha,” Dr Ali added. Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu suggested everyone to abide by the health directives to contain the quickly rising coronavirus infection rate.
