Bangladesh Olympic Association has decided to continue the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh games as per schedule despite having a one-week countrywide lockdown, starting from today.
BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza made the announcement while visiting the athletics discipline at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.“Bangladesh Games will continue and we are trying to complete the remaining events following the proper health measures. Hopefully, we will be able to finish the Games successfully,” Reza said.
“Government definitely knows about it and we are expecting to get a positive response from them. We have talked with everyone and they assured us to continue it. We will end the Games by the 9th of this month,” he said.
However, the Games, which started on Thursday, will end on April 10. A total of 374 events of 31 disciplines are taking part at the country’s 28 venues.
