All professional final examinations of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) under the Dhaka University-affiliated medical colleges have been postponed due to spike in the Covid-19 infection.

The examinations were scheduled to be held today (Sunday), said a DU press release on Saturday.

The final examinations of November-2020 and January-2021 in all medical colleges affiliated to Dhaka University have been postponed .

The next dates of the exams will be announced later. However, the first and the second professional MBBS oral and practical examinations of May-2020 and November-2020 will continue, maintaining hygiene rules.

DU Medicine Faculty Dean Prof Dr Shahriar Nabi said, “We have postponed the written examinations due to the spike in corona infection.”

“Oral examinations will be held as it is not a complicated system. Only 10 to 15 examinees will face the oral test every day. Due to having fewer students, we will be able to maintain health guidelines,” said Shahriar Nabi.

“New schedule of the postponed examinations will be announced later,” he added.
