Md Anisur Rahman on Thursday joined BASIC Bank Limited as managing director (MD) and CEO for the next three years.
The financial institution division of the Ministry of Finance confirmed his appointment.Prior to his new assignment, Md Anisur Rahman was Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Agrani Bank, said a press release.
After completing master's degrees in mathematics from Dhaka University, he joined Agrani Bank as a senior officer in 1988 under BRC.
The post of Managing Director of three private commercial banks and state owned BASIC Bank were remained vacant for last few months.
Among them Humaira Azam was appointed as first female at the army welfare trust sponsored Trust Bank Limited and Md Ansur Rahman has been appointed as Managing Director at the state owned BASIC Bank.
The post of Managing Directors of two private commercial banks the National Bank Limited and Pubali Bank Limited has remained vacant.
Besides, the post of Managing Directors (MDs) at four Non Bank Financial institutions (NBFI) has remained vacant. These are International Leasing and finance Service Limited, Bangladesh Industrial Finance Company Limited, First Finance Limited and Meridian Finance and Investment Limited.
