Bangladesh face Kenya in final today

Bangladesh will lock horns against Kenya in the final of the five-nation Bangabandhu Cup 2021 International Kabaddi Tournament today at the Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in the capital.

Bangladesh remained unbeaten in the league stage winning all their four matches and will be favourites to lift the title in their own backyard.

Bangladesh beat Poland by 40-22 points in the opener and while they defeated Kenya 32-29 points in the second match.

The kabaddi team beat Nepal by 35-20 points in the third match before winning against Sri Lanka by 33-31 points in their fourth and last league match.  On the other hand, Kenya reached the final after beating Sri Lanka by 37-36 points in the qualifying match on Thursday.

 Bangladesh head coach Chhaju Ram Goyat expressed his optimism to clinch the title of the tournament.

 “The team is in good form now. They have extraordinarily performed in every group match. I hope they will win the final and clinch the cup,” he said.  Bangladesh captain Tuhin Tarafder said that they deserve the cup because they display the best performance in the tournament so far.
