Brahmanbaria journalists boycott Hefazat

BRAHMANBARIA: Jour-nalists in the district on Tuesday announced to boycott any news related to Hefazat-e-Islam and its affiliated organisations in protest of the vandalism in Brahmanbaria Press Club and attack on journalists during the Sunday strike.

The announcement came at a protest rally condemning the rampage of the Hefazat activists in the district during the strike. They also demanded a judicial inquiry into the violence.

Journalists took out a procession from the Brahmanbaria Press Club premises around 11:00 am.

Brahmanbaria Press Club Senior Vice-president Piyush Kanti Acharya presided over the rally while General Secretary of the press club Jabed Rahim Bijan, Vice President Ibrahim Khan Sadat and President of Television Journalists Association Manjurul Alam, among other local journalists, were also present.
