SCBA President Khasru shifted to ICU of CMH

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Abdul Matin Khasru, who was infected with Covid-19, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.

The former law minister was admitted to CMH on March 16 after his Covid -19 report came positive.  He was shifted to ICU on Sunday midnight as his condition deteriorated.

“Sir (Abdul Matin Khasru) gave samples for Covid-19 test in Jatiya Sangsad booth on March 15. The report came positive in the next day. On the same day, he was admitted to CMH. He was taken to ICU after sodium level had dropped on Sunday midnight,” Khasru’s personal assistant Advocate Md Mohin told to the Daily Sun on Tuesday.

“We have received all tests reports which are normal. The level of sodium is standard now. Sir has no kidney, heart and breathing complications. He is likely to be shifted to cabin on Wednesday,” he added.

Abdul Matin Khasru, a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, served as law minister during the party’s 1996-2001 tenure. He was elected as lawmaker for 1991-1996, 1996-2001, 2008-2013 and 2014-2019 terms.

Besides, he was elected president of SCBA in an election held on March 11.
