Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday arrested BNP central leader Nipun Roy for subversive activity.

She was arrested from Rayerbazar in the city at about 3:30pm.

Nipun is a member of BNP central committee. She is also president of South Keraniganj Thana Unit of BNP.

Earlier on Saturday, three BNP activists allegedly torched two busses at Malibagh and Sayedabad in the capital following directives of Nipun Roy ahead of Sunday’s hartal of Hefajat-E-Islam.

Mohammad Arman, Kharshed Alam and Mohammad Shahin are

activists of Keraniganj BNP. They allegedly set fire to buses, snapped photos, and sent those to Whatsapp account of Nipun Roy on that day. The elite force also arrested Arman.

This correspondent obtained two audio clips of phone conversation between Nipun and the activists.

According to an audio clip, Nipun phoned Arman, saying, “Are you in your area?  Tomorrow is hartal. Vehicles are to be torched. Burn completely, video the scenes, and send me those. I will send the videos to the high-ups of the party.” Arman assured her of torching the vehicles.

In another audio, Nipun asked a man, “Are you in the area now? Tomorrow is hartal. You have to do something. You have to set fire to buses-one or two and send me the videos.”
