Bashundhara Food and Beverage emerge champions

Bashundhara Food and Beverage became champions in the Bashundhara Inter-Department Cricket Tournament beating Bashundhara LP Gas by 89 runs in the final match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex at N-Block in Bashundhara Residential Area on Saturday.

 Bashundhara Food and Beverage made 222 runs in their stipulated 20 overs before they bowled out the opposition for 133 runs in 19 overs to win the competition.

Bashundhara Food and Beverage batsman Mamun was adjudged player of the final while Bashundhara Food and Beverage captain Redwanur Rahman was named player of the series.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan graced the final of the tournament as the chief guest while Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan distributed the prizes as a special guest after the match.

“We have arranged the tournament in order to motivate our employees during the corona time. I think it will increase the brotherhood among our employees and there will be an even better relationship between all of our staff,” said Shafiat, who was the main architect of the tournament.

Bashundhara Kings President Imrul Hassan and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.

International Convention City Bashundhara Chief Operating Officer M M Jasim Uddin claimed that Bashundhara Sports Complex will make a special place in South Asia as it is going to be the biggest and most modern sports complex in the country.

“In order to move forward the sports in our country and bring out new talents, Bashundhara Group has made a big investment apart from the Bangladesh government. Bashundhara Sports Complex is going to be the biggest and most modern sports complex in the country,” Jasim told reporters during the match.

“There will be two big stadiums for football with one having the capacity of 15,000 spectators. There will be an All Out facility for cricket here. We will have two big stadiums for cricket and we are creating enough spaces for indoor and outdoor practices. Till now our national cricketers don’t have such facilities too,” he said.
