The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) registered a record 12,911 megawatt (MW) of electricity production on Thursday night, BPDB chairman said.
“We have produced highest electricity generation on Thursday night at 8:30pm,” BPDB chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain said.Previously, It was registered a record 12,893 megawatt (MW) production on May 29, 2019.
The BPDB chair said 5800MW of electricity produced from gas-fired plants despite gas crisis during last two days. Besides, 5000MW produced from costly oil fired one and rest of the electricity comes from renewable, coal and hydroelectricity.
Earlier, Bangladesh crossed the 10,000MW mark for the first time on March 19, 2017, before which the country generated 9,000MW of power for the very first time on June 30, 2016.
