Police will carry out an investigation to find out whether businessman Abdur Rashid was killed in the presence of law enforcers or not.
On the other hand, a Dhaka court on Thursday placed eight accused including Aminul Islam Hannan alias Japani Hannan on remand over the murder.After a hearing on the remand plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayed placed Hannan on a four-day remand in the murder case and one-day remand in the illegal firearms case while a two-day remand was granted against the rest the accused each.
On Wednesday, Hannan shot dead Rashid in the capital’s Dakkhinkhan area during an altercation. On that day, Harun-Ar-Rashid, brother of the victim, filed a case against about 20 people at Dakkhinkhan Police Station.
After the murder incident, some eyewitnesses said that a team of police led by Sub-Inspector of Dakkhinkhan Police Station Abdul Aziz was present at the crime scene, but they did nothing to protect the victim.
