A mild to moderate heat is sweeping over the five divisions in the country and it may continue until Thursday, according to an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Many day-labourers, rickshaw-pullers, children and elderly people are falling sick due to the scorching heat. The high temperature is disrupting the plight of commuters, animals and wildlife.

BMD meteorologist Shahinul Islam told Daily Sun that the current heat wave may continue one or two more days while the night temperature may rise during the period.

The mild to moderate heat wave was sweeping over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Rajshahi and Pabna, he said.
