Books on Liberation War in high demand

Books on liberation war are much in demand at Amar Ekushey Book Fair, said publishers and salesmen on Tuesday.

Abu Musa, a salesman of Prothoma Prokashoni, said, “Readers are buying more books based on liberation war. Books like Ekattorer Chiti and Protinayok Sirajul Islam Khan are selling well in our stall.” Sajib Ahmed, a salesman of Annesha Prokashoni, said, “Readers are looking for books by Humayun Ahmed and by young writers like Kinkar Ahsan and Jewel Ahsan Kamrul.”

On the sixth day of the month-long book fair, 118 new books were released while a total of 497 new books have arrived so far.

On the day, a discussion titled “Golden Jubilee of Independence: Liberation War and Women” was held at the main stage of the fair in the afternoon.
