Speakers on Tuesday urged the government to ratify Convention 190 (C190) of International Labour Organization to end violence and ensure decent workplace.

They also said the convention defined workers and their rights, violence and harassment, workplace and responsibility of its stakeholders which is vague in the conventional laws of the country.

They made the remarks while speaking at a meeting jointly organised by Safety and Rights Society and ActionAid at the auditorium of Economic Reporters Forum in the capital’s Paltan area.

Lawmaker Shamsun Nahar, Safety and Rights Society executive director Sakendar Ali Mina and Bangladesh Legal Aid Services Trust deputy director Advocate Barkot Ali, among others, spoke on the occasion.
