Netherlands embassy’s first secretary visits Galachipa

PATUAKHALI: First Secretary of Embassy of the Netherlands (Dhaka) Folkert Greert Jan and Senior Economic Adviser Shah Mohammad Aminul Islam on Sunday visited Chiknikandi Union Bazar in Galachipa Upazila of the district.

Their visit was focused on safe clean water supply system of the grassroots poor and helpless families. The First Secretary of the Netherlands Embassy expressed satisfaction over the successful implementation of safe water supply project and its impact on target people.

During his visit, Galachipa Upazila Chairman Md Shahin Shah, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashish Kumar, Max Foundation Representative Director and Co-Founder of Max Foundation Joke Le Poole, Country Director of Max Foundation Imam Mahmud Riyad, representative of the organisation MM Ohidul Islam Kajal, Md Irfan and Maartje Pronk, Chiknikandi UP Chairman Sajjad Hossain Riyad, Galachipa Press Club President Khalid Hossain Milton along with members of local administration, police and public representatives were present on the occasion.

Water supply management has been implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission with the financial support of Max Foundation. The project has a great success in improving sanitation and healthcare sector and disadvantaged families, and people have been benefiting from the project. The local people appealed to the concerned organisations to increase the activities of the project.
