80,000 more get vaccinated

More than 80,000 people received Covid-19 vaccine across the country, including Dhaka, on Sunday, raising the total number of jab recipients to 48,40,969 so far.

According to data of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 80,222 people were vaccinated against the virus across the country on the day.

Of the total vaccine recipients, 44011 were males and 36,211 females, it said adding that only six people reported side effects. 

With this, a total of 48,40,969 people have so far received the first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca (Covishield) vaccine against the coronavirus in the country.

Of the vaccine recipients, 30,40,5222 were male and 18,00,447 were female. A total of 906 vaccine recipients have so far reported side effects, the DGHS said.
