Fire at DMCH Corona ICU Unit

Probe body visits scene

The probe body formed by Fire Service Civil Defence (FSCD) to look into the fire incident in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) visited the spot and collected evidence on Thursday.

The members of the probe body also talked to some eyewitnesses.

After the visit, Nur Hasan, the chief of the probe body and deputy director of the FSCD, told journalists in the hospital that they collected necessary evidence from the damaged and talked to a number of eyewitnesses.

“We are hopeful of submission of our findings within the stipulated time,” he said.             

“We have yet to ascertain the reasons. After investigation, we can say details,” he added.

Meanwhile, another patient of the DMCH’s ICU died in Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Momena, 45. She did not sustain any burn injury from the fire, said Ariful Islam Nabin, a residential doctor of the hospital.
