JOYPURHAT: Education stipend and education materials were distributed among indigenous students in the town on Saturday under the Development Assistance for Special Area programme.
A total of 208 students from primary level, 160 from high school level and 44 students from higher secondary stage got education stipends in the function.
Besides, forty bicycles, 102 school bags and pencil boxes were distributed in the function.A function was held at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on the occasion this morning. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Milton Chandra Rao was in the chaired where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Shariful Islam was present as chief guest.
Local Zila Parishad Chairman Arifur Rahman Rocket, Upazila Parishad Chairman S M Soliman Ali, Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Takur and General Secretary of Joypurhat chapter Awami League Jakir Hossain were present among others.
