Bangabandhu Safari Park to be upgraded to int’l standard: Shahab

Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister M Shahab Uddin on Saturday said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park at Dulahazara in Cox’s Bazar will be upgraded to an international standard, reports BSS.

Directing the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to turn Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park into a world-class standard, he said very soon it will turn into world-class standard.

He said this while inspecting the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park development project (Phase II), said a press release.

The minister said that all the animals in the safari park should be provided with good quality of food, accommodation and overall security.

“Appropriate measures should also be taken to ensure the safety of the tourists visiting the safari park,” said the minister.

He assured of providing minibuses for the convenience of tourists to visit the safari park.

Earlier, the minister visited Medhakchupia National Park and exchanged views with the forest rangers.

Zafar Alam, MP, Secretary of the ministry Ziaul Hasan, Chief Conservator of Forests M Amir Hossain Chowdhury and Conservator of Forests of Chittagong Region Mohammad Abdul Awal Sarkar, among others, were present.
