RANGPUR: The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has submitted a charge sheet against five people, including Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Raihanul Islam, in a case filed for gang-raping a ninth grader in Rangpur.

PBI submitted the charge sheet separately to Rangpur women and children repression prevention and anti-trafficking tribunals on Tuesday, reports our correspondent quoting ABM Jakir Hosen, superintendent of police, PBI, Rangpur.

Rahenul Islam, suspended assistant sub-inspector of Rangpur police, raped the class 10 student on October 18 and 19 last year at a rented house, according to the charge sheet.

The victim’s father filed a case in this connection with Haragachh Police Station on October 26.

“We have found proof of the involvement of the five accused during our investigation,” the SP said.
