Awami League (AL) National Committee member Abdul Awal Sarker passed away on Tuesday. He was 78.

Abdul Awal Sarker, also former president of Cumilla North district of AL, left behind his wife, four daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

In a condolence message, she said, “The party has lost a dedicated leader at the demise of the veteran AL leader.”

The premier also prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul and extended her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also expressed deep shock at the death of Abdul Awal Sarker.
