Four extraordinary women have received ‘Radhuni Kirtimoti Shommanona 2020’ award for their outstanding contribution to the society on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The award ceremony was held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday, said a press release.These women were recognised for their incredible achievements in the fields of journalism, social welfare, business entrepreneurship and sports.
Radhuni, brand of Square Food and Beverage, has been giving the prestigious award for last 14 years.
Editor of Daily Bangladesh Pratidin Naem Nizam, Former Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Founder and Chairman of Bidyanondo Foundation Kishore Kumar Das, and Physician, Researcher and Associate Professor, IEDCR Dr. NK Natasha were present as special guests on the occasion.

Sheikh Sabiha Alam, a veteran journalist from Dhaka was awarded with the prestigious ‘Radhuni Kirtimoti Shommanona 2020’ for journalism in recognition of covering numerous crime reports, disclosing irregularities and unknown information through analytical and investigative reports in her nearly 16 years of professional life.Jasmine Sultana Paru from Chittagong, has been honored for operating unpaid school for child labors and also helping underprivileged slum dwellers and rural women to establish their human rights with ‘Radhuni Kirtimoti Shommanona 2020’ for Social Welfare.
Shamima Sultana Shilu from Khulna has received the award for Entrepreneurship as she has taken various initiatives to make women self-reliant besides running small businesses, boutiques, showrooms and factories.
Firoza Khatun from Mymensingh has received the award for sports.
