Schoolboy stabbed in Bogura

BOGURA:  A schoolboy was stabbed by unidentified miscreants in Sherpur upazila of the district on Friday night. 

The victim is identified as Sajib Hossain, 16, a ninth grader of Perfect Ideal School, son of Shahin Hossain of Kellaposhi village in Kusumbi union of the upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of young men attacked and stabbed him when he was going to take part in a Waz Mahfil was held at Hospital Road area of the town.

The attackers fled the scene when the people of Waz Mahfil came forward hearing his screaming.

Later, the locals rescued him in critical condition and admitted him to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC) Hospital.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station Shahidul Islam Shahid said he had not yet received any written complaint about the incident.  In case of complaint, necessary action will be taken as per law.
