A three-day film festival ‘Joyeeta Foundation Film Fest’, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and International Women’s Day begun at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Saturday.
Bangladesh International Film Movement with the support of Joyeeta Foundation and Diamond World have organised the event. Six films of Bangladeshi female filmmakers are being shown at the fest.State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira inaugurated the festival as the chief guest. Project Director of Joyeeta Foundation Abdur Rauf and Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky, among others attended the programme as special guests.
Filmmakers Nargis Akhter, Shahnewaz Kakoli and Nanziba Khan have been honoured at the programme.
Kohinoor Akhter Shuchanda’s ‘Hazar Bochhor Dhore’, Nargis Akhter’s ‘Meghla Akash’, Samia Zaman’s ‘Rani Kuthir Baski Itihash’, Moushumi’s ‘Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti’, Shahnewaz Kakoli’s ‘Uttarer Sur’ and Nanziba Khan’s ‘The Unwanted Twin’ are being screened at the festival.
The film fest will be continued till March 8 every day from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.
