Tk 50,000 fined for cutting hill in Moulvibazar

MOULVIBAZAR: A mobile court here on Thursday fined a resort owner Tk 50,000 for illegally cutting a hill.

Sreemangal upazila assistant commissioner (land) and executive magistrate Md Nesar Uddin led the mobile court and fined Nurul Islam, owner of Tawsi Garden, the amount for cutting a hill at Radhanagar area under Sadar union.

He said Nurul cut a portion of the hill to construct the resort that may damage biodiversity and environment.
