Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Friday claimed that the mosquito menace in the capital began to subside, as proactive measures have been taken by the city corporation.

He made the remark after watching a football match at Karim Jute Mill playground in Demra.

He said, “Our experts told us to continue fight against Aedes until December and we acted accordingly. There is no mistake in our strategy. We should have taken measures against Culex from November.”

Taposh also said that they would ensure at least one playground in every ward under the City Corporation.
