The EU delegation to Bangladesh will organise a daylong mural painting event today, marking International Women’s Day.
Young emerging female artists will be painting on the outside walls of the EU Delegation at Road 84, Gulshan -2 sharing inspiring messages on womanhood.“This is intended to provide women artists with a bigger platform to exhibit their work and to claim their rights to the city by enhancing their visibility,” said a press release of the EU.
Eighteen young artists will be painting on the walls under the direction of Fareha Zeba. Distinguished award-winning artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma will also participate in the event. The event is open to the public.
The young women artists are: Nuzhat Tubassum, Kazi Istella Ahmed, Eeasmat Ara Mitu, Mahmuda Akter Lutfa, Surovi Akter, Manashi Banik, Atia Maibam, Saria Ahmed, Saiqa Chowdhury, Dibarah Mahboob, Laila Fazal, Papia Sarwar Dithi, Mondrila Modhurima and Laila Fazal.
Besides, to strengthen the diversity of the event, three young artists will be joining the event from outside Dhaka: Avlee Chakma, Ruposhree Hajong and Atia Maibam.
