Saplings of Bina-14, a high yielding variety of rice, were distributed among farmers in Cumilla on Friday.
The Cumilla sub-station of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) and Department of Agricultural Extension’s Sadar Dakshin Upazila unit organised the event to advertise high yielding BINA Mustard-9 and distribute Bina-14 saplings, reports UNB.It was held at the Ramchandra village field on the occasion of land day.
Speakers said that the Mustard-9 variety is tolerant to diseases and temporary. The colour of its seed is reddish black. The amount of seed oil is 63 percent and the crop can be harvested within 75-80 days.
Mohammad Ashikur Rahman, officer in charge and senior scientific officer of BI Cumilla presided over the event.
