Land grabbing allegation against Banglabandha UP chairman Milon

PANCHAGARH: Several people of Banglabandha union of Tentulia upazila of the district sought security of their lives and properties from the local union parishad chairman.

Alleging No. 1 Banglabandha union parishad chairman Kudrat-e Khuda Milon a land grabber and ‘Don’, they sought help and support from journalists as the local and police.

In a press conference on Wednesday, victims Abdul Hamid and Zumar Uddin alleged that UP Chairman Kudrat-e Khuda Milon grabbed their lands by signing stamps forcibly, they were also physically tortured and extorted several times.

He alleged that UP chairman Milon has grabbed his 1.4 acres of land and extorted Taka 50 lakh.

Abdul Hamid, a trader, alleged that he had placed three complaints against Milon before Panchagarh DC and Police super. Later, two complaints were placed before Rangpur Divisional Commissioner and DIG, but all cries fell on deaf ears.

He also alleged that local police station is not willing to lodge any case against Milon. So, he had to file 12 cases against Milon with courts.

Meanwhile, another victim Zumar Uddin alleged that UP chairman Milon’s men forced him to sign stamps by beating and torturing physically for grabbing his one acre of land.

However, they also alleged that Milon also grabbed 16.59 acres of lands forcibly from Rehana Begum, Abdus Sattar, Dr Jinnat Ara Rokeya Chowdhury and Dabir Islam.
