Uber, Better Future ink deal

Uber has signed a partnership agreement with Better Future for Women (BFW) marking International Women’s Day 2021in the capital on Thursday.

Uber Bangladesh Country Head Md Ali Armanur Rahman and Better Future for Women Founder and Chairman Sumaiya Shimu signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

As per the agreement, organisations will enable women to gain skills so they can earn a livelihood as drivers on Uber’s platform, said a press release.

The association aims to create micro-entrepreneurial opportunities for women from across marginalised sections of society, by skilling them and providing them with avenues to earn a sustainable livelihood.

Uber will host an onboarding mela (Fair) in March-end, where interested women can sign up as driver to the platform.
