The country’s top shooter Abdullah Hel Baki on Wednesday said that he is eyeing to book a place in the Olympics through doing well in the upcoming International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup.
The event is scheduled to be held on March 18 to 29 at the Dr Karni Singh Range in New Delhi, India. “We are concentrating on the World Cup at this moment. This will also help us in Olympics preparations,” Baki told The Daily Sun.“There is a chance to secure a quota for Olympics from the meet if we ranked just after the previous quota winners or qualified for the final round,” he added.
Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation is likely to send seven shooters to take part in two categories -- rifle and pistol – in the meet, which will also provide quotas for the Tokyo Olympics in July.
